Hey All,

Greetings. I hope all of you are doing well and safe. I have a small confusion. One of my friends got a website that set his blog into a subdomain. Like - blog.example.com. He posted around 100+ content on the blog. Now, as we all know, each subdomain Google counts as an individual website. So he is asking does interlink helps the way subdirectory does? Will it mark as spam to get links from each post to the main domain? He is confused about switching back to the directory like example.com/blog because it will be a big work for him.

I said it should not because I can see Hubspot did the same. And the end of the day, Google can see that this blog is a part of the leading site. But I want expert advice about it.

Thanks in advance.

This is the old debate folder versus subdomain. Here you have to ask yourself: are the engineers at google stupid? after all, many of them have PhDs from MIT or Stanford, so certainly they could not figure it out?

In addition there was a recent article on that, was it from google themselves (?), that said it does not matter.

I would not waste my time restructuring the site from subdomain to folder, it is probably a complete waste of time.

Thanks a lot for your input. Yeah, it makes sense and that's what I was thinking alike. But I was not sure about it. Thanks again.
