question about image royalties

hey guys new to blogging but not really IM. So If I take an image and edit it will it is still a problem to post or do I still have to look for royalty free images .

Depends on if you want to risk possible comebacks.

Chances are you might not get caught, however it's got to be your choice.

There's plenty free image sites to use.

Dont bother using royalty image, unless you are doing blackhat, anyway, there are some websites out there that offering free quality images, you can check it Pixabay and Unsplash.

so if my niche is in technology. a picture of the device from the manufacturer would put my site at risk ?

Personally if you're not undermining th product or company, I don't think they'd care.
There's nothing wrong with you crediting the image back to the manufacurer, if you were concerned.
