This is something that has always wondered and would like to ask here to get some feedback on the topic.

Let´s assume I come up with an idea to develop an app or software that is unique and have lots of potentials and, for this, I decide to hire a software developer to build it up for me.

My intention with the software is to create and build a website around it and sell it online under a membership plan.

Sounds pretty basic, right?

The problem I have with this is getting ripped off by the developer stealing my Idea and building the soft and monetizing it by himself.

Is there a way to reduce this risk or to cover me legally? Does freelancing platforms offer any type of security measures for this?

Really looking forward to your comments!

Have them sign a legally binding NDA, non-compete and non-solicitation. Prevents all that from legally happening.

To complete this, join forces with someone from your own country or a neighboring country.

Ideas are not worth anything. If the dev is good at executing he will do it better than you and you will end up with nothing.

You can always sign a NDA with developer that will legally prevent this!
