Question about High Pr Backlinks

If I put my link, say anywhere from a relevant High PR site, say like a forum for example.....My link doesn't directly sit on the high PR page, it sits off of the High PR page.....Is the goal to get the link to be on a High PR page, or just a High PR site? If the link is supposed to sit on the high Pr page, does anyone have any good guides or how-to's to accomplish this?

What is the PR of the page? Some pages on high PR sites can get high PR themselves without a ton of links pointing at them - just because of the onpage SEO. How popular is the page your link will be on?

If the PR is N/A, is the page brand new there? This might mean that it can have a decent PR but it won't show until the next update (or even the one after).

Overall, the answer is NO, you'd ideally want your link to be on the high pr PAGE. However there might be decent value in the link anyway. The question is whether it is worth it if it costs you something.

Right, I see some people use forum profiles to drop a link, but I'm not seeing an advantage of something like that if the link doesn't have a high pr I guess.....

Some people will drop a link in a forum signature, even though many are no-follow on forums, I can still manage to find some in my niche that are do-follow. Even then though, the posts themselves usually don't have High PR, but the forum itself often will.

On a side-note I don't know if google is even updating PR anymore?

Forum profiles are pretty weak links, not really worth pursuing in my opinion.

I wouldn't try to build links for SEO purposes through forum signatures either.

If it is a forum that is related to your niche, then the main point of your signature would be to get traffic from the forum to your site. If it is an active forum, and you can establish yourself as an authority then that can get you some good traffic and conversions. Some of those people might even link to you.

But back to your initial question, yes ideally people would like their link to be on the page with PR. This is why so many people use expired domains with strong backlink profiles.

PR wise you'd want your link to sit on a high PR page, but if the page is getting good traffic then it may still be worth it

Links from mail page (with hige page rank are more valuable), but you can get a good result if you can get a link from inner page. You have to check if every inner link is being indexed by search englines.

But keep in mind PR was updated about year ago, so its better to look at site quality, user activity, site indexation etc.
