Question about GSA Blast’s

I haven’t done any automated or outsourced link building including GSA Blasts since 2016 and it seems the scene has changed a bit since Then, had a couple questions I was hoping someone could answer.

1. back in the day you would just do a GSA blast for your money site. I don’t see this being mentioned any more. What would happen if you did a gsa blast directly to your money site today?

2. What is the best way to use GSA blasts today? And why? How does this method work?

3. are GSA blasts really even relevant anymore in today’s world or are they history?

4. if one was to run a gsa blast, I used to use a vps with a proxy. Is that still the go to setup today?

any advice and help is appreciated, just trying to get up to date with how GSA blasts are relevant in today’s atmosphere

There are people who still get the most out of GSA specially for tier 3 and 2 link building. So it's not digital dust. Check RankerX if you like to do a quality tier blast.
 
According to my point of view, 2nd Tier link pushing may help you to use GSA Blast effectively. It means you should push your link with some handwritten contents and backlinks while using GSA SER.
 
"Quality" and "blast" should not be mentioned in the same sentence unless it's negative.

1. Either absolutely nothing, because those links are so shit, that Google would ignore them or your site would get penalized. Depending on how badly you would blast. So no, don't do that.
2. Tier 2/3. Even then, I wouldn't bother. There are better ways to spend the money. There are some people here who claim that the tier 2/3 GSA link building is working well for them, but that will most likely require a learning curve and a decent investment into lists and time.
People I talked to and know who do tier 2 blasts, do it for a peace of mind, rather than results.

@Nargil Ahhh that makes a lot of sense. So a tier 2 or 3 allows the money site to shield from the negative gsa links, in theory?

So for a money site a gsa blast would be ignored, but in enough volume would penalize my site instead. Damn how things have changed over the years.
 
GSA blasts were already penalizable in 2016 (for a money site). Don't ever send them to your tier 0 aka your money site.

Yes, they serve as filters pretty much. Still, it's best to use links that do not require any filters.
 
What would happen if you did a gsa blast directly to your money site today?
Been there done that, you will have a mild bump on SERP and gradually it will be nowhere to be found. It will take at least 6 months to get it up on ranking. You can do it on any tier 3,2 site. most suitable for blog posts.
 
Recently did a test and the site slowly tanked 30 positions in google serp. Bing position seems to be unaffected.

Nowadays, I use gsa links just for faster indexing of tier 1 and tier 2 links and to index tier 1 links in bing.
 
if your site has enough authority, than blasting gsa will have some good effects on ranking.
GSA blast still work if we build it carefully, try blasting to parasites hosts first before to your money site.
 
GSA blast can work, but only if you've made it already.
Avoid GSA blasting at a building stage.

Interesting... if you don’t mind me asking, what position was your site for google and bing before the blast? And how many links did you hit the site with?

over 10k... I'm a bit surprised I got that many there as I was expecting less than 1k.
bing: position unchanged 2-3.
google: from 22 to 59.

You could just build nice tier1-2 links and then spam those with gsa ser-xrumer to index them and give them more juice.

They are useful still for today.
