I'm a bit confused about Google's announcement that FAQ rich results are being deprecated.

My understanding is that Google is removing support for FAQPage structured data rich results, meaning FAQ schema will no longer generate expandable FAQ sections in search results.

However, does this change affect the "People Also Ask" (PAA) box as well?

  • Is Google only removing FAQ schema-based rich results?
  • Or could this also impact the People Also Ask feature in search results?
  • If I continue to have FAQ content on my pages (without expecting FAQ rich results), can that content still be used by Google for rankings, AI Overviews, or People Also Ask answers?
I'd appreciate clarification on the difference between FAQ rich results and the People Also Ask feature.

I wouldn’t stress too much about PAA. From what I understand Google’s changes are mainly towards FAQ rich results made from FAQ schema whereas People Also Ask is a different search feature.
