Question about Google XML Sitemap compatibility with Yoast

Hello! I would like to know if anyone is currently using the Google XML sitemap by Arne Brachhold together with Yoast plugin. I heard there's a lot of issue regarding yoast's sitemap so I decided to disabled the yoast sitemap and use a different plugin for my sitemap. However, when I installed the Google XML sitemap by Arne Brachhold, there's a message saying "The following plugins might cause (xml sitemaps) issues with Yoast WordPress SEO: Google XML Sitemaps". Anyone is using both plugins without any issue?

the sitemap you can use a separate plugin

I use Yoast and yes, I had some issues with sitemap. I prefer use another different plugin for the generation of my sitemaps and not Yoast.

i am still using yoast. never got any problem with it.

No problems with Yoast here. My plugin and Wordpress are up to date. Maybe there's a compatibility problem?

Can you actually access the sitemap with the plugin?

yoast will use sitemap_index.xml while the other just sitemap.xml

yoast have some problem with some theme where it will fail to generate the sitemap. a long time issue which i kinda forgot why. and it doesn't allow you to set crawling priority.

But you should'nt have to activate both. It sometimes messes up the search result, and it just downright messy, plus it hogs resources. If you use the other, then untick the sitemap functionality in yoast.

I had both going and just using Yoast now and works fine after adjusting settings.
