Question about Flippa

Hey Everyone.

Hello again!!. Its been a while since ive been on, I have taken time out to complete my Business degree (one of my personal goals) and im slowly working my way back to self employment.

Anyways, i have a question about Flippa. I have been quietly looking at the websites being offered for sale on the website for a few months, and regularly check the ones advertised with an income already established.

I have noticed that there are all sorts of ways the seller can verify that the amount they earn is in fact accurate (Screenshots etc) What i am unsure of however, is how accurate these actually are. I find it almost impossible to believe for example, a website earning just below $2,000 per month in affiliate sales, is being advertised at $5,000 of which the seller sites his reasons for selling as working on bigger projects.

Have i just got more sceptical with age or is there other ways BHW members can suggest to verify the authenticity of these websites.

Those high-earners "that need to go now" are usually pump-and-dump scams. they buy traffic/ppc to appear it's stable business, but once you buy the site, the campagins stop and you're left over with crappy site worth only slightly more than raw domain name.

Really? Surely if this was the case the website bears some responsibility for allowing this to occur?. Also, isnt it illegal to falsify information pertaining to the earnings?.

Does anyone have any experience with purchasing premium websites from Flippa,and could they share their findings and/or recommend a more reputable organization who offers established websites for sale?
