Yes, it's demonstrating all paths where the pic is positioned on your pc, from root to folder name. Like driver name\folder name ....folder location.

so the folder name is saved on facebook's servers and is visible?
so they can match 2 separate accounts if you upload 2 things from the same folder???

I'm sure its possible, can't see them doing it to be honest.

Why wouldn't you just rename the folder if you are worried?

Facebook would not have the time to check ever photo uploaded for duplicate content!

well i sort of uploaded already.
i thought that file duplicates were usually detected by pixels.
the files are different of course but they are located in the same folder .
i didnt know they could look at the folder actual names...
can site/domain admins normally see the complete folder name ie c:\users\user\pictures, etc?

It cant see full path. What really goes to server is filename and content of the file.

You are wrong, that would be invasion to user's privacy. All servers can see is the content and filename. That' it.

Hmmm...mixed answers. how is it usually with a site when you upload, does it see the filename only or the folder directory?

Hey, Facebook is a privacy nightmare.
But their is something you need to think about man.
With all the facebook users out their I seriously doubt
your even close to being such a threat that facebook
goes through all of this trouble.

But hey just create separate windows usernames and folders if you care that
    much about it.

    Good Luck
