question about expired domain and 301 redirect

guys, thank you for your input again, I have another question, lets say I have 10-20 expired domains or more, they are all clean and low spam score, can I do redirect (301) all of them to my money sites home page? I am thinking if google know I do this way for seo purpose and take it as spam, then lower my site ranking, then I waste money picking up those expired domains.

Mostly check the backlinks and anchor text thoroughly. Spam score is metric which Moz itself says not that much reliable. You can go for it if everything else looking good.

thanks, my question is, I will pick up 50 expired domains (clean), then do 301 redirect all of them to my money site home page? is it good? does google think my site have too many 301 redirect from expired domains?

ok, understand, actually those expired domains I am going to pick up dont have many backlinks, I can see it in the ahref tool, as long as there are few high quality backlinks (manually open those target pages and check if the links still exist), I will go to register this expired domain, then do 301 redirect, also the domain is related to my money site niche, do you think I am doing right, or waste money?

that will look spammy and very unnatural. The question is, will google detect it? Depends on the competitiveness of your niche, luck and some other factors i would imagine

The key thing is - in what real life scenario would 50 websites redirect their domains to one website at the same time? This is not something that would ever occur naturally, you’re basically waving a flag above your head to google.

It could still give you some benefit, as i mentioned before, maybe its an uncompetitive niche. But i’d also imagine that would be minimal against the time, energy and money you’ve invested into buying the domains.

Why are you buying expired domains with only a small handful of links anyway? Look for good quality ones and spend a little more for them, better and safer than buying a large volume of low quality domains for the same price

good point, that is what I was worrying about and not sure, I think I have answer now

the reason I pick up expired domains with only a small handful of links is minimum cost, as they are usually available to register, only $5/domain, also those expired domains are related to my site, my website is actually lawyer/law firm directory website, and expired domains I will pick up usually have keyword 'law', which means these expired domains were lawyer/law firm company website before, so their backlinks are good for my site, I think.
I know people sell seo domains with many high quality backlinks, but it will cost hundred dollar/name, also not close to my site niche, so I think put money on related expired domain with small cost.

This looks very unnatural. You can maximum redirect 2-3 powerful domains rather than redirecting 50 expired domains. It will be bad impact in long run. You can implement 301 acquisition strategy which is more safe and effective.

I got your point that you have tight budget and don't want to spend hundreds of dollars for it. That's ok. You can always try to search the domains for yourself. It might cost you a bit but if you found useful then it will much more beneficial for your site.

thanks for point out 301 acquisition strategy, I just google it and learn it, I will do it in that way in long run

yes, I have tight budget, also I m not sure if those hundred dollar expired domain can really help my site. I can search domains for myself, it definitely save the cost but cost time to find, if this way can help my site, it still worth spending time to find.

After the glue algorithm change for abusing 301/302 redirects from outdated domains, now even for 2 redirects from outdated sites, Google can penalize the site.
So, max one site and wait at least a month and a half and then the second one. In general, no more than 5 redirects per year, otherwise penalized.

It is better not to send redirect the entire site on its own, you can choose the best pages and send only them, and the rest to reflect on the main, and the main restore in the original form, which was on this site before.
