If I wanted a domain name like gainmusclefast which obviously isnt available so I went ahead and registered a domain like gainmusclefastgainmusclefast would that still hold some decent weight seo wise ?

it will look like a spam website at least for me. just go simple like gainmusclefasttoday, etc..just add simple word in the end..

You probably know that exact match domain(s) (EMD) were an excellent strategy to have pages rank well on Google. But here is what just happened! In September of 2012 Google started filtering poor quality domains and getting rid of the low quality websites where the only focus was on getting traffic via an exact match domain name.
It doesn?t mean that a good and high quality website will be affected.
Google will always reward good content and legit businesses, or at least they will try to do their best when it comes to high quality content.
As far as your domain name, it looks spammie to me and I would not trust it, I like the suggestion of adding a single word to the end of it to keep from looking "cheap". IMO

Quality content may NOT help longer term if there are too many other sites vying for the same keyword. The smaller the microniche keyword in terms of LMS/GMS, the less Google's filter matters, because it will likely have to rank the site highly because there is little SEO competition for it.
The more monthly searches the term has, the more likely it is there is strong SEO competition for it, so repeating the term twice in the url may be more easily de-ranked as spammy by the filter. If two briefer keyword terms can be put together in the domain, it may have a stronger effect for traffic than only one of the terms in an EMD URL.

While that is mostly the case with G.com, it's really not the case with all the local ones. For example in my native G, it is still possible to rank with just an EMD and some content.

I've been doing this type of thing for a while and it definitely works if you want to highly rank for that exxact match domain. My first attempt within about three weeks got to rank 1 on google. Of course you'd want to make sure the keyword search competition is low and have a good SEO knowledge and tools etc to help pump it up. But it definitely helps. I'm currently working on about 20 websites so it's fun when you get the results.
I think this is useless and if I were you I would go for a domain that projects a high quality brand. Remmeber that you might get punished by Google if you use the name of an actual brand so try to make your title as catchy as possible without removing your main keywords and you should be fine.
gain-musclefast.xxx. The search engines remove the hyphen for rating and searches. However, you will risk domain infringement and trademark infringement risks.
