Question about email marketing

Hi

a friend of mine has accidently got about 6000 email addresses to a group of people.

can he make a newsletter and send it to them or would it be considered as spam, as the receivers haven't opted for receiving email from him

But would it be considered illegal to send email to them? If so then many then I asume many make money methods here might be illegal if they for example involve using a scrape tool to harverst emails and then send email ...
 
Yes he can send newsletter or any email to his list of subscribers. And that won't considered as spam or illegal.
 
What might seem blackhat sometimes might not be illegal to the offline world

It's not illegal, but still it is considered spam.
 
It depends on what type of content are you guys looking to send form there.

If you send 600- links to adult content, then you might as well be blacklisted and ultimately considered spam.

If you have genuine content and you are sure that what you are offering is in compliance with what you offer then chances are that no one is going to mark it as spam.

Now as for GDPR(google them) be careful if you are emailing in Europe.

It is possible to avoid spam by sending emails batch by batch regularly with some email procedures and regulations that you should know about it.
 
Yes you can send batch by batch but you need to make sure that you are not sending content which is against the morality or annoying. Secondly you have to make sure that even if you have nice services or content, you need to be in compliance with gdpr laws for Euorpean community
 
You does not know what's the niche you target with the people the email has collected .... that's wouldn't be a good way making lead from them.
 
Just reach out to the people and offer some free things such as ebooks, services etc to get their trust by doing his best to them. Then he can sell your things whatever he has to them and earn as much as possible. :)
 
Just divide this base into 20 small bases and send newsletters to each of em. So this way it can work. It is easier to avoid spam filters that way.
