Question about duplicated content

Duplicate content is only when it comes from another place on your own site.
Syndicated content is when it comes from some other place on the net, be it an affiliate or copying. Otherwise the internet would grind to a halt and have red stamps on it from duplicate content on it. This is the way I understand it. If I am wrong I am sure someone else will most certainly chime in.

Yes, it is duplicate content.
But you can add a lot more useful info to the same page.
I bet its different if Google thinks you are an ecommerce site just listing the same products. Otherwise then only one site will ever rank for the same product that all of them sell.

It's duplicate content and will have a penalty if you just copy paste into your site, rewrite with more than 75% uniqueness will be safe or adding more new content to the site or mix content from few different articles and re-write them will be much better.

Its duplicate and least helpful to users though if you can add some unique content to it as well, you should be fine getting away with it.

Probably not, but to be on the safe side, you could just rewrite it. There are plenty of programs out there that allow you to spin content.

Syndicated content requires attribution (link back to the original website). Not sure how well it will do in SERP.

If you copy without rewriting, you will be doing the same thing many ecommerce sites have done. And since their sites are older and probably have more backlinks, it's going to be difficult to beat them in the SERPs for product keywords.

That is not true, i have local lead sites of 500+ pages {city}+{service} with content that is 95% the same and i rank just fine, these sites are ib a .info domain and have a lot of "bad backlinks" and still after 5 years they rank top for lot a cities.
Dup content on own domain as taken from the internet is not a problem, there is no penalty in my expirience

I see websites that have copied the guy above them, word for word, all the time in the serps. I see spam articles ranking all the time. Same title, same body text, etc, just on different domains. Pretty sure google is mostly concerned with dup content on your own website. as in the same page but different url, same meta descriptions, same titles, etc.
Thats not to say that you should not add content to copied content. Google wants the user to be happy. Make the copied content better, and it might rank better depending on a bunch of other things.

I think if you are trying to rank for super competitive "buy" or product keywords, you will not outrank big ecommerce sites.
For long tail niche keywords and more article-style pages, yes, there are plenty of examples that the original article ranks first, and the copy ranks second.
But since you were asking about Amazon product details, I assume it's the first you are asking about.
