Hi!

I have a question that has been assaulting me for some time and if it has already been answered in some other thread I apologize but I can't find it.

To open a dropshipping from scratch, do I have to open a company in my name to accept payments?
If yes can you get around this somehow?
I would like to start such a business but I cannot open the company for now.

Thank you

Have done 8k in dropshipping when I was not even 18, so yes i have done it without any company but it depends on your country, so mention your country too

No of course not, you can be a freelancer, and just handle everything from your personal account to begin with.

Once you actually have a working system that makes money, you can open a company and transfer things across, but till then, most companies you deal with don't care, and neither will your government if you are just starting.

So you can open a shopify store with a private account of paypal? or do you use other payment systems?
Thanks

You can start everything with a sole proprietorship. No registration required.

With sole proprietorship do you mean me as a unique person?
As I wrote above I wanted to open the company only if the initial part went well, I would not want to open it without being sure that it goes well.
I don't know if I made myself clear :)

You already answered the question, you wouldn't want to open it without being sure it goes well, so the best thing to do is to start with your name, once things start to get clear, you have built a solid plan, and the money starts to come in, daily or weekly, then maybe you need to go to a local accountant in your country and ask for the benefits you will get opening a company.

good luck.

It all depends on taxes in your country and the country that operates

Most probably you will need the information for
  1. Your Supplier ( To get approved by legit & regional brands)
  2. Sometimes your supplier may ask reseller License, so you may need there
  3. When your payment provider asks
  4. When you have to pay taxes.
If you are starting out then any dropshipping platform won't require these and some payment providers won't require depending on your country. Start with aliexpress, cj, eprolo or anything suitable to you.

When you start to scale then Definitely register.
