Hi all. I hope you guys are doing fine. Just a question. I have a site which is currently sitting at the 1st position of google and it's really profitable for a small niche. I'm planning to create another similar site in the same niche with and rank it within the top 3. I know that using a different hosting account is a must. But how about domain? Should I have a new account and can I just use my current account? I'm using whois for all of my domains btw. Would appreciate some advice on this. :D

I'm not sure what you are asking about the domain? Obviously you will be using a different domain for the new site. I've had more than one site ranking before using the same hosting account. It will be interesting to see what others think about this, I haven't noticed a problem.

You are asking about footprints I presume, if you have who is protection along with all the other measures you have said then it should go unnoticed.

Personally I don't see the point in worrying too much, google is only interested in footprints that are gaming the system, two unique sites, on a related subject by the same owner in the serps shouldn't cause too much drama, unless there is more to it than you are letting on.

I would use same domain hoster with private whois. Just use different hosting and don't interlink anything and you will be good.

As long as you stay away from issues like:

1. Duplicate content ( copying content from 1st website to second)
2. Same design and structure
3. Linking between them

and you add just original & solid content + different hosting and hidden whois info ( these 2 are no mandatory as rob said, but better be safe than sorry) you won't have any issues.

Hope it helps!

Hey man. I am going to use a different domain name. What I meant was using 2 different godaddy accounts for example. Sorry it's a bit confusing. :D

Hey thanks for the advice Rob! Yes i'm referring to footprints. I'm kind of a little paranoid when it comes to this. Appreciate you taking your time to lend some advice! :D

Thanks maecenas23. Will heed your advice! Yup I am planning to create a whole different site in the same niche using original content and design. Not planning to interlink them. Just a little paranoid regarding the domain thingy. I mean it'll be a hassle to create 2 different accounts on godaddy! Now i'm just going to use my current account! Thank you! :D

I think it's safe to have them registered on the same account, if you use WhoIS protection. As a recommendation, if you want to change registrars, you can go for InternetBS, they have free WhoIS for lifetime and their cheaper than namecheap on recurring payments.

Thanks lord1027! Never heard of InternetBS. Will take a look at it. Thanks for the recommendation! :D

Hi. Sorry to bump to an old thread. Something came up to my mind. Currently my main source of income are from Amazon. I was wondering if it is against Amazon TOS if I were to earn from 2 different sites of the "exact same niche". Tried to find the answer but couldn't find any. Anyone care to give a thought?

I dont see why would it be against amazon TOS. I have few websites in same niche and i never had a problem with them

I don't know how can you rank a website on the first position in google... All my sites are on the last position in google. I tried original content, I posted daily, I created manual backlinks, I purchased backlinks, I paid someone to rank a website on the first page... and nothing... what is the secret?

Seems like a good idea to dominate niches. Same hosting should not be a problem, some sites are seen take more than one place of the first page.

Well that doesn't sound a problem. I mean if the other website of yours is going to be all genuine in the eyes of Google then there's no reason Google will restrict it from ranking.

OP, care to share your link building strategy? How long does it take to get to the number 1 spot for medium competition?

Yup. I've checked with the associates department and they told me it's fine. Just taking precautions. :D

There's no secret pal. Just keep testing and keep learning. You'll get there eventually. :D

Actually, there are secrets. But those who know the secrets don't share them in order to protect their income-generating web assets.
