question about domains

I have an exact match keyword for a microniche, but the exact match domain is already taken. If that is the case, then what are the best strategies for going after the exact term from a domain name perspective.

should I add another word after the exact match?

should I use a single dash in the phrase?

should I use a lower level domain (co, us, tv)

some combination or something else completely?

I've found that you can add a small word to the end of the emd and it should be fine. For example, adding the word 'tips' or something general to your keyword..
