I have around 100 odd diggs on one of my submitted articles. how comes i
do not show up on the top 10 stories from my category and other stories
do that have 16 duggs
Im new to this digg thing am i missing something

that is indeed weird. 100 diggs should get you on top of something at least :p

thats what i mean i got 300 diggs and still nothing... it was done with a bot using unique IDs.

I believe before something can become a Top Story it has to be manually approved/moderated. If something doesn't look like it will have mass appeal or doesn't look legitimate, it wont be a top story.

Right i get you.. do you think that they check the profile to make sure it does not look spammy and do the check the ip addresses of where the digg came from? or is it all based on the content alone?

It has to do mostly with the amount of comments received and the profiles of the people digging and commenting. They can easily see if nobody made relevent comments and there is 300 diggs, that its not a real hot topic. Also, if all the people digging it up are just new profiles, and not well known/long time users of digg, its not a real hot topic. And also, if its just a product review, it wont get picked either. It has to be a real news topic, awesome picture/video, or a hilarious joke or something.

Ok i get it now so basically Bot digg are a waste of time:(

man that;'s bad news..what about reddit?
