Question about creating a sitemap

Well, is the website a forum or a blog? BHW and Reddit are forum-based sites and operate via a completely different sitemap in comparison to a large blog with a massive amount of info pages.

It depends on the CMS,
if it's a dependant PHP website, then you need a dependant PHP script for that

Please try this. Am not sure it's gonna work for you yet just a try.
Here are some steps to generate site map
• Click the given URL, https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ which is a site map generator, and paste your URL.
• It will take some process and you can able to see the sitemap details.
• Download Sitemap details and move them to the main directory (root folder).
• Get back to the site and Click GSC-Paste your URL.
• Download- HTML verification file, upload it to the main directory where the site map is added.
• Back to GSC, click- google-site-verification.
• Verify it.

There is different Content Management Systems that are available have their own plugins for creating sitemaps on automatic, but these additional CMS plugin cause mislery page speed of your website.
Else, you could go with paid version on XML-sitemaps or Google Code Page for sitemap
