I have made a video that I believe is the first of its kind in the gaming category. I wanted it to get real exposure so I put $40 in the youtube promotions and used the free $100 sign up bonus. It only got me to around 4k views after a week or so.

If I wanted my video to be easily discovered and seen would buying views get me there? Also how many views would you need. I know that the video needs to get the most views as quickly as possible to get the highest ranking, but how many views would be effective.

Or should I just go with the slow vagex service and put a load of credits on the video to be delivered over a few months.

Yes, views definitely help to rank high on Youtube.
To outrank your competition easier you have to get as much views as they have or even more. Keep in mind title/tags/description play a big role too so optimize your video as good as possible.
Also, get some fake ratings too. But remember, it's not that easy to rank no.1 on Youtube SE and it takes time.

4K in a week for $40? That's pretty expensive $10 CPM

You can get views for $3 per 1000 nowadays

I did it because they were real views and the video links into a series of 30 so the 4k for $40 turned into about 30k overall. I also received a few hundred subscribers from it.

I was just wondering if I bought a few thousand views if I would start seeing more real viewers to the video.
