Question about bots

My question is regarding traffic bots. I know they come to your website and "act" like a visitor.

I would like to know, if is there any kind of code these traffics can't read? I know they can load images, flash and java. Can it load ajax, cgi, etc..

Anyone? Can anyone that programs bots answer this?
