Hi everyone, been creeping around and reading a lot over the last few months, thanks to everyone who's shared their successes, has been a real eye opener about IM.

On to my question.

I've been backlinking for a bit and was wondering if you've found it more successful to have backlinks link directly to your article in question or to link to the base domain?

Sorry if it's been posted before, couldn't find an answer to this question in a quick search. Thanks in advance for your input.

I've always been more successful linking to the article or inner page, rather than just to the domain. Build up some backlinks on the specific keyword related to that article, and then rinse and repeat with another article/keyword.

I second john. I also find very successful to have links inside the articles rather than the domain itself.

Thanks for the responses. That opens my eyes a bit. I was trying to figure out why I was placing links to the domain rather than the meat/article itself. Thanks again for the input.
