So I recently stumbled upon a program that I run in the background and it uses my GPU to mine its own CC. I'm making about $16.50 a month using this program. Would it be more profitable if I just mine on my own?

I just don't know how and where to even begin.

I got a gaming PC with a
GTX 1050 ti
AMD FX 4100 Quad Processor
1TB of Memory

Unless you have the best equipment AND a shit ton of it + free electricity, mining's not profitable. If the prices rise? Sure. But how much more do you think they can rise?

Agree , done it in the past and the systems are loud as hell and add hundreds of extra money to your electric bill.

Theres a site that can calculate your roi on mining on your own based on graphics card and your utility rates.
