Question about Auto blogs

I'm considering of setting up an auto blog. My plans are to completely automate it and to make some google clicks and if possible a few affiliate sales as well.

The primary purpose though is that it would compliment my main money making site.

My question is, how long does it take to get an auto blog indexed and start seeing some traffic? I'm not looking for exact answers, but based on personal experiences.

While the blog will post content on it's own, the only thing i'll be doing is to submit to social bookmarking sites.

P.S: Any tips to bear in mind are also welcome.

It will get indexed in the same manner like any other site, you won't find any difference with that.
But, Google hates copied stuff, so be aware of it, as you may not get as much traffic as you would expect. Also if you try Adsense, Google may terminate your account if they find out its an auto blog and not original content.

Yes as nYCem said it will get indexed same as other sites. But google hates auto blogs. You can make your site in top 10 within weeks, but it wont last forever. I am having few auto blog site... i lost Adsense bcz of spun content and gloogle slaps me and de-indexed my sites. My advice is instead of having 10 auto blogs have 1 mini site, and update your mini site weekly with original content.

forget the time to learn autobloging. its very hard...

write good content and big G will MUST to rank it.

good content + backlinks = $$$$

If you will be using copied content it will be harder to rank it, but it can be done. It will need more backlinks and higher quality backlinks than unique content websites. I still have several autoblogs and they're doing pretty fine post-Panda as well; but they took quite a few years to establish.

Google won't care if the content isn't original as long as you credit the source. You may not rank as high as the original article, but you'll get traffic. It isn't against the Adsense TOS, and you won't get your account shutdown. Link to the original article and you'll be okay. Don't steal content and claim it as your own, THAT is what Google hates.

Thanks for the tips guys. I think the first thing to do would be to remove my Google adsense on the site then, just to be sure. I've been in good standing with this account since early 2005. I looked at clickbank but because i'm not based in US, they only send checks. My question, is it a viable option?

I think i'll replace adsense with Clicksor and see how it goes. Had an account for ages but seldom used it.

In regards to content, what i'm doing is basically pooling in feeds from various sites. There are only categories that scrape content. Two categories use article spinning and one category is entirely original/unique content.

I'm hoping the above will make it sort of a semi-auto blog???
