Hello everyone, how are you? I'm advertising a biohacking product to attract money through FB ADS. I've seen many people saying they don't target interests, only age and gender.

What do you think about this? Is it good to solely target age and gender? Has anyone had any experience with this?

haha, you shouldn't listen to anything people say. Just do your normal detailed targeting, and remember to test ad groups based on interests and without interests

You can target behavior (FB's algorithm has the ability to record all user behavior, interactions, etc., you should take advantage of this to reach relevant audiences with interactive behavior closest to the product you are selling). But you should still try it with multiple audiences to see which ad is most effective

If you don't have experience, in my opinion you should start with an untargeted campaign and then find out where the customers are coming from and what topics they are interested in. And you can target that audience section

If your product is too specific, you should target it
If your product is popular, you should target it in the article itself

Well, that may work for them and may not for you. I feel you should target all there is to target for you to achieve your aim.

I'm trying a product called a cup, but my customer base is very small and the cost is very high

As a person who works with many different advertising niches, I have a summary like this
With ads that do not require insight research, do not target customer groups but are more about interests, things everyone may want to try like gambling, making money online... you may not need detailed targeting
With niches like home appliances, crypto, nutra,... you need to target in detail because some people have related searches and behaviors, not everyone is general so you cannot target broadly
This is my opinion. You can also try your research, use 1 account to create a campaign without detailed targeting, and 1 account to specifically target the possibilities you think of and compare the stats yourself

I feel that every product should be targeted because it will better shape the campaign

It depends on each product and experience. you can create 2 campaigns and measure the results. everything can be right or wrong. There is no specific formula

So this is my advice.

You need to test what works for you and then stick to it for results.

You need 3 different adsets to test.

1st adset - test with interest
2nd adset - test with age
3rd adset - test with gender

The more specific in target, the optimizer your budget I think

Age, sure maybe, but gender? Unless you believe it'll be specifically beneficial for your ads, just go with the standard details for targeting.

You should target by interests and age,
Sine Facebook AI will record user behavior, you need to target it

You can try to have your own experience, other people's experience may not be suitable for your product

I think you should go into more detail about your target customers, research insights, age, behavior and location. You also need to test many different content to see how attractive it is to your customer base

I think you should try creating 1 set of ads that only target age , gender and 1 set of ads that target additional interests so you can better understand what's important about your offer.
