How would they know if I just opened up a book and copied it word for word and made articles like that?

    Copyscape doesn't cover books.

    Would they ban my account?

Well, yes, it doesn't cover most books published offline. It used to be a tactic often used to get content into AC/YV. It should still work, but you need to be sure it isn't online (pdf, et al) such that it was already indexed. Most new youtube videos, Amazon 'look inside' excerpts, foreign language content translatable into English, etc are also usable. To be safe, you should do at least a light rewrite to make it seem unique to you.

I guess I would not risk this. Copying is illegal and should not be done no matter if there is copyscape or not. It is just not worth the trouble.

Why would you even consider copying content from a book? It's unethical and dishonest.
