How is it possible to perform an AND Search? I tried several thigs over the last year, but it did not really work. Including putting a whole phrase in ""... It seems it always search for both or all words seperately. In the FAQ is a search-option "or / And", but not in the mainsearch. So how do I perform a search for a whole phrase or AND?
I haven't found any way to search for an exact phrase (and) either ..... This makes it VERY difficult to search when a phrase that would probably be unique with only a couple results when it pulls in EVERYTHING with ANY of the words in it ..... HTH .... :cool2:
Yes, one word is ok, but when another word or more are involved, itseems it searches all words separate...
do you mean a gooooog search like this: "firefox" + "copy and go" which would be "firefox" and "copy and go"
How bout it BHW staff ..... ??? How do we search for an exact match (and) INSTEAD of picking up ALL of the words (or) in the phrase? This is especially frustrating when searching for long titles before posting downloads, etc because the LONGER the title the MORE unrelated results we get ..... Like try searching for "My Ultimate Autoblog Wordpress Themes" for example and even WITH the quotes we get "Showing results 1 to 25 of 432" INSTEAD of 1 or 3 for the EXACT match ..... This post on the Vbulletin board looks like it may be the one to FIX the problem here ..... Code: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=194471&highlight=exact+search Perhaps that will help ..... Who is the webmaster anyway ..... ? HTH .... :cool2:
Hmm, nothing changed, a search for "My Ultimate Autoblog Wordpress Themes" still brings up "Showing results 1 to 25 of 202" Are we the only ones bothering about this? That would indicate that wer're stupid because only we out of 69000 members miss this feature
Well they want us to "thoroughly search" before posting downloads, etc so it would REALLY be helpful if we had decent search tools huh? How about it BHW staff??? HTH .... :cool2:
The simple answer to the question, which works out fine - to use the g00gle site search: "My Ultimate Autoblog Wordpress Themes" site: blackhatworld.com brings up exactly ONE page, this one, so there is no other. But I just found another thread this way "How to Do Effective Emailings" which was recommended by a member in another thread; bhw-search found hundreds, and the g00gle-site search hit it exactly. So this is the way to go I guess, BHW-search for one-word searches, and the others as above. Sorry to have started this thread, it was not to criticize, just born out of "have to find". Think there's nothing to add here any more.
yeah i use this in google mostly site:blackhatworld.com intitle:keyword this gets the job done most of the time. but i don`t think google indexes all pages. some old obscure threads don`t seem to be indexed. it would be great to be able to do these kind of searches in the searchbar in the forum. maybe someone could code something like that? would be awesome
So easy to FIX it for BHW. Code: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?194471-How-do-i-set-up-Exact-Search&highlight=exact%20search Would really be nice to have a decent search function on BHW. HTH .... :cool2:
