How do you get banned from AC exactly? Can you get banned for submitting a rewrite? Any other ways to get banned?

You can get banned for plenty of reasons:

Getting too many denied articles can do it.
Trying to inflate Performance Payments (RIP Performance Inflator).
Submitting too many articles to the same account can do it.

Being sketchy in general can do it. Just use your account like a normal person would. :p

rewriting article wont get you banned. because they will write you a feedback that your article is not unique. AC will also give you the link.

One of my account is not doing too well. I have got 3 declined articles out of 10 submitted. Will I get hit by ban hammer anytime soon?

I've also seen them reject articles that are verified unique as (re)written, because the title/subject matter was too similar to an article already on the web, or was a saturated topic.

Umm.. yea that will do it ;) Try not to submit more than 10-12 per account per day. The less, the better. Just spread it out over more accounts.

As long as they're rewritten to at least 85% unigue from the original (which then allows them to pass Copysc*pe) you're fine.

As far as the three rejections go, you're fine for now, but again you want to be learning from your accepted articles what's working the best. Just try to keep your rejections as low as possible through twisting and tweaking, and paying attention to the reasons they give for the rejections.

@ skylark - Everything Danny listed is spot on, but to add a few more things..

    1) Citing bad sources too often (especially when writing news pieces and partner calls)

    2) Not linking AC accounts to seperate PP emails (or seperate PP accounts)
