I have an old post that went viral and is getting a lot of views and comments. It doesn't have a link in the description. If I add a link, will it continue to receive views?

If you add a link to an old post that's already gone viral, there's a risk that Instagram's algorithm will treat it differently, as links can make content seem less appealing to the audience. If the post is still getting a lot of comments and likes, it will likely maintain some visibility, but the link could distract users and reduce engagement. If you decide to add the link, I recommend closely monitoring how engagement and views change in the following days to see if it actually affects the post's performance. If the link is important, you might consider adding it in a comment rather than the caption to keep the focus on the original content.

It is possive to pin a post in comment on pinterest?

@pocketttt Pinterest works different than IG - edits on old viral pins usually don’t nuke distribution, the algo cares more about saves + outbound clicks over time. You can add a destination link later and it’ll still keep flowing if people keep saving/clicking.. anyway.

You can’t pin your own comment like IG, Pinterest doesn’t have that mechanic. Best move is edit the pin description and add the link clean, or add a first comment with CTA but don’t expect it to be surfaced hard.

If the pin is still hot, adding a relevant link usually increases total value instead of killing reach

Usually, adding a link afterwards won't immediately drop views, but editing the caption of a viral post can sometimes lead to system re-checks. I find it safer to use pinned comments with links or drive traffic to the bio. If the post is getting strong recommendations, I usually leave it as is and focus more on the comments

Yes, adding a link will not kill an already viral post's reach. Pinterest's algorithm promotes pins based on engagement and relevance, not the presence of a link. However, ensure the link is highly relevant and goes to a quality landing page; a mismatch can cause users to stop engaging, which will eventually reduce reach.

Adding a relevant link usually won’t hurt its reach, but keep the edit minimal and aligned with the original intent to avoid disrupting engagement.

You can add a relevant link without hurting performance, just keep it natural and aligned with the original pin so engagement stays strong.
