Question about a expired domain

Hello,

I have a question, I was just able to dropcatch a domain name with a strong backlinks profile. The domain name was related to a Museum which is now bankrupt. Is it a wise idea to put the whole old website as it was before back to original, get rankings back and then add affiliate programs to Museum? Chances are I will get nagged with copyright etc though.

The website had 20k organic visitors a month ago.

Or shall I just start the website from scratch? I'm in doubt. Can anyone advise me?

Rebuilding the old website with an updated affiliate-focused strategy could be a viable option, but navigating potential copyright issues and considering ethical implications is essential for long-term success.
 
I wouldn't waste 20K visitors monthly. I would rebuild the website, but that's just me and I've been threatened with lawsuits before so I kinda run on the fringe.

Ideas cannot be copyrighted.

Do not restore the whole site as it was but keep the same idea with your own rewritten content.
If the name of the musuem is trademarked, you may face some issues but it should come under fair use.

If the old website had original images, maybe modify them or find some alternatives.

Otherwise I don't see why anything else that would be be a copyright issue.
