question about 301 redirecting

I'm trying to target the phrase 'example scam'. I have written several different articles targeting that phrase. A friend of mine said I should write a lot of 300-400 word articles targeting that word and then 301 it to my main article. The well written one for 'example scam'. I found out that when I "Fetch as Google" and submit my URLs, they're indexing immediately. If I submit the URL to Google to be indexed, & the settings for that page are set to redirect to my main article, is Google going to index the content on that page or use the content for the article that's on my 301 redirect URL? I'm trying to get these short articles in the search engines, but have them redirect to my main one. I would like the content to be indexed on Google. They're all unique, targeting the same keyword, but not as quality as my main article.
