Hi Chaps,
Has anyone got experience of GSA's email tools? Looking at the ones they offer neither seem to do what I want.
I'm looking to get a list of contact emails from a list of web addresses for a new client whose site has been drowned in SPAM (1.2 million links from 25,000 sites in December alone... WHOOPS)
Given that ICAN and WHOIS extraction is a right royal PITA even with Scrapebox and proxies (given it requires SOCKS proxies and without them stops working after about 50 searches - no good when you need to do 25,000 for a reconsideration request)
So thinking outta the box. I looked at GSA's suite of Email scraper, thinking they could go to each site looking for contact addresses.
Failing that a WHOIS or ICANN service where you pay a few cents per email address they find
Either way it needs to work from a list of websites. The GSA one lets you put in one website at a time (and with 25,000 to do that's not something I'm going to bother with)
Any ideas. Anything I've not thought of. Considered writing something - but really don't want the hassle. I have one list to process at the moment so not looking for a repeatable solution just a way to get the job done quick.
Scrapebox worked for me as I only had a couple of hundred email addresses to find and could re-run the query a few times over the course of a day. But 25,000? That's gonna need some heavy lifting
Is there a service that does this?
I've see API's that do, (like ROBOWHOIs) but not products or services based on those API's. A
gain I don't want to mess about with coding my own solution - just a quick one off fix) A tool or a service to get contact emails from a list of URL's either via WHOIS/ICANN or via a scrape
Thought of going to Elancer or Odesk but thought I'd ask you guys first
