I see there are many websites for short url like adfly etc. I can understand about some old website like adfly and others. But how do new short URL website makes money? I see there are less opportunity of advertiser for them. Some of them are running adsense, but it can be banned anytime.

In the past there were some PTP websites, but now a days they are also not active.

So how do you think they are making money?

Few of them uses popups. When a user clicks shortened link, a popup ad is invoked.

This. And if you can't see any popup or ad, you've probably got an ad blocker installed

I only recently remembered that I use uBlock Origin when I was browsing on a friend's laptop and I was like why don't I get so many of them on my computer?

The shitty ones do it like adfly.

The shittier than shitty turn to scam changing urls. At least back in the days this was a thing.

The good ones offer membership for extra features. Like bitly.
