Hey everyone, bit confused and would appreciate quick help.

Currently I'm working on backlinks for my site. I've got G Alerts up and I respond to blogs/forums/etc ASAP. I was wondering - is it a problem that all the backlinks are posted from the same IP? Does IP matter for backlinking?

Also, let's say I responded on certain post on "site1" with "anchor-text1" that contained my main KW. When I want to post more on "site1", does it help my SERP or not? (since I've already backlined there?) If it does help, should I now go for anchor-text2 containing other KWs?

Thanks

This won't be a factor. Unless you're posting on Blogger or the likes, Google won't even know what IP it is posted from.

To answer your second question, the second and tertiary links will be worth less, but not totally devalued. No-one knows the exact amount, but the second link might be worth 60%, and the third 30% .etc. It's still worth getting the link.

1)Google can't see your ip, but the blogs you're submitting comments to can.

2) Don't keep commenting on the same site again and again, but commenting twice is not an issue. I don't know the exact number, but after a certain number, the backlinks from the same ip(of the site you're commenting on) will not give much value.
