I am looking for real life responses please. I have Hostmonster shared hosting and am being throttled due to 96 WP autoblogs (161,000 files). If not a VPS, any other suggestions, like Reseller Hosting?, or whatever you use that is working.

    Thanks

I really need some help with this. Hostmonster has killed my uptime! I know there are members here who run tons of autoblogs successfully. Just make some suggestions and I will do the research. I am not looking for spoon-feeding.

    Thanks in advance!

I thought I would update this since I got an answer from Hostg@tor in a chat.

Notes: I have 96 autoblogs running an RSS feed poster and a YahooAns poster via cron jobs. For you newbies, an inode is one file. Each file, image, script, etc. is counted individually which causes the inode number to climb fast when you have lots of blogs.

Hostmonster shared hosting limits inodes to 200,000 but starts throttling (slowing you down) when you go above 100,000 on shared hosting. They warn you that you could be suspended. They do not have reseller or VPS so there is no way to increase capacity at any price. I am forced to move blogs now.

    Anyway, here is the chat:

Question: My Domain Name is:"mydomain.com" I have Hostmonster shared hosting with CPanel right now. I am being throttled due to the number of inodes. They cannot upgrade to handle more inodes.

Here are some stats: File Count (inodes) 161,983 and I need to add approx 20% more files to finish all WP blogs to be uploaded.

CPU Throttling in past 24 hours: 37,798.393 seconds

I have: 1 .comTLD and one addon .infoTLD - multiple subdomains on each of these. 95% are Word Press blogs and I have 96 MySQL Databases.

Question 1. Due to the number of inodes, what plan do you suggest as a starter plan so I can test your services?

(11:02:32am)Ted D.:Our shared plans allow you to store up to 250,000 inodes.
(11:02:34am)Ted D.:You can sign up for shared web hosting account here: http://www.hostgator.com/shared.shtml
(11:03:09am)Jim:But, what about throttling? At 250,000 I will still be close to the limit?
(11:04:28am)Ted D.:250,000 is the limit, Jim. Anything higher than that will result in suspension. Dedicated servers are able to have unlimited inodes.
(11:05:00am)Jim:Dedicated is too rich for my budget. What about vps?
    (11:05:14am)Jim:Or, reseller?
    (11:05:51am)Ted D.:With a reseller each cPanel has a limit of 250,000 inodes.
    (11:06:01am)Ted D.:A VPS has a limit of 1,000,000 inodes.
(11:06:45am)Jim:With reseller will I have to split all blogs among 250,000 inodes total, or each blog has such a limit?
(11:07:50am)Ted D.:OK, if you split them into separate cPanels then each cPanel gets a 250,000 limit.
(11:08:46am)Jim:I see. So each blog or group of blogs on a CPanel cannot exceed a total of 250,000, correct?
    (11:09:18am)Jim:For that particular CPanel.
    (11:09:21am)Ted D.:That's correct.
(11:09:52am)Jim:Great. I will take a closer look at reseller.

I hope this helps some of you. Any additions to this will be appreciated, I am sure.

    JD
