I have used GoDaddy and hostgator - depending on their offers for specific domain types. Importantly, you will need to register with a service that allows you full DNS control, GoDaddy, in my opinion has a very comprehensive 'dashboard' for making DNS changes etc..
I would go with internet.bs for domains. They offer free whois privacy protection for lifetime.
namecheap and namesilo would be secondary choices. They offer free whois for a year as well.
And for hosting sharkservers. They have a thread in the marketplace.

For the people that suggested Hostgator/GoDaddy, clearly they have no idea what they are suggesting and just purely commenting bullshit.
OP already stated that he's going to be using it for an "ONLINE MOVIE" site, which is a NO-NO with both hosting.
I'm beginning to think that a lot of people here are just replying for the sake of a post count.
