Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a server in NL. I want to know if they have any internet laws and what they are. I know copyrighted material is allowed but what about other things? (I'm not going to have a terrorism site or anything intl. illegal like that obviously) I just want to know what is allowed and what's not. I couldn't find anything on Google so I though I would ask here.

Thanks,
LiamLC

P.S. the reason I want to know is because I will allowing certain people to put content on and run programs on my server and I need to know what they can't put. thx again ;)

afaik, even if you have your servers in the US, and if some nutter puts up a terrorist site, your dcwill ask you to remove that content immediately once it comes to their notice. this applies to all DCs, cos if something thats bad for you is bad for the dc too, but if you are going to get repeated complaints, get a server from russia or turkey.

The Netherlands is taking Internet activities very serious. I guess most laws are comparable with the USA laws.

If you are behaving yourself, the Euro/NL privacy laws will do you well. If you are naughty, the ISPs will tend to be rather cooperative with authorities. Same goes for EC in general.
