I've seen quite a bit about dripping your link building. My question is this: do you drip everything? For instance, if you're doing articles, do you drip the articles, then also drip the pings of those articles? Or do you just drip the articles? Or just the pings?

This is my belief and results of my testing, but I am sure someone else has a differing opinion and that is fine.

For most of my sites I do whatever I am doing consistently. I have never been "penalized" for building a huge amount of links in one day. I have seen the dance as a result of it, but never been like permanently removed from the rankings.

Now that being said what I do is make sure whatever I am doing I am doing consistently. That means if I am dripping articles for a week, next week I am dripping articles again. If I am doing like an AMR blast each week then I do an AMR blast every single week. At least until I get a good ranking, then I might slack off or change it up a bit.

Thus it is really up to me what I can do. If it works out better for me to drip the stuff then I do that, but if I just have to do a big blast then I make sure I keep doing the big blast on a regular cycle.

Like I said probably not how everybody does it, but it works for me so thats all that is important.

I would say it is important to drip your pings but not necessarily your blasts, essentially if you blast a load of articles the engines will gradually find them, pings help that process so as long as you don't ping all at once then hopefully it should look more natural

Thanks linkdropper4 and seemayer. I've posted a poll to encourage others to indicate their preferences.
