A lot of the time on Google I'll see sites that aren't that popular ranking that have their keywords listed in their url 2 or sometimes 3 or 4 times.

An example would be something like this:

freeipods[dot]com/free/freeipods

So, while it seems to work for some sites, does Google ever frown on having your keyword(s) listed too many times in your url? Does it usually help?

as far as i know, it is a good idea to put separate main pages in sub folders (eg:whatever.com/someshit) and have the new page in there as index.htm

i dont think big g would frown upon you for having to many keywords in the URL, i think it would rather start ignoring them after a cetain amount, otherwise you would have URL's like: www.freeshit/freeshit/freeshit/freeshit/freeshit/freeshit.php

i have asked a similar questionbefore on regitering domains using the keyword more than once, as in www.freeshitfreeshit.com. Is that better/worse or as good as freeshit.com?

i think the best idea is to mix it up a bit, as freeipods.com/freemp3players/ipodfree.htm

i dunno :)
