putting my a$$ on the line

Hey, so I'm new here as in posting but a long time stalker. I might ask a few dummy questions, but that does not mean I'm stupid. Since I've joined, I've tried to help people where I can, I write in clear plain English - I made a friend, an iTrade with someone for some wordpress pointers and I helped answer a questionnaire. I've been trying to stay as active as possible, reply on posts without being spammy, give thanks when someone takes time to reply and I actually mean thank you because that's the kind of person I am. I have been trying to think of a way to document something to give back for all the help I have had so far, which doesn't affect my niches.

I logged in today to see this:

This has saddened me to be honest I'm in half a mind if to try and continue my progress here as an active member on the forum. Especially has someone went ahead and kindly answered me (who I thanked) I don't see the harm I was causing.

I fully understand you are all like well WTF? who cares. Just please remember we all start somewhere and there is (in most cases) a real person sat at the other end of the computer.

while I have been responsible for encouraging new members to search for stuff rather than ask redundant questions, I would never insult them for doing so simply because that's something that I might have done when I first arrived here.

I hear you out OP I have been around here a while and have never neg repped anyone...

But I have been neg repped many times but the upshot is that is how some folks live and work in a negative zone, each to their own...

But this is what to do that I got told when I worked 13 years for a Fortune 100 Computer giant turn every negative into a positive...

OP keep moving ahead and do not mind yourself over these irrelevant issues...

One thing I have to constantly remind myself of is that this and all other forums are a collection of HIGHLY diverse individuals, only you can't see most of them, only a select few that post. The rest are represented by those few, and the homogeneous colors and whatnot of the forum itself; that's all you ever actually see. You aren't seeing most of what's here.

It's like psychological. Most comments are pretty banal, a few are mildly amusing, some of the useful posts are not useful to you because you don't know enough for them to actually mean anything, others ARE useful because you DO have some connection to the subject matter, and then the most memorable and intensely memorable posts are the ones that bite, provoke anger, etc... and the natural reaction is that the entire forum has somehow rejected you. At least that's how it feels to me. But then, I have to remember that it's not "the whole forum", it's just one person. And sometimes that person is a real douche. I mean really. A complete fucking cunt. The kind of person that you would never associate with in real life. If they sat next to you on the bus, you'd want to move to a different seat. The kind of person that you would, in real life, find so objectionable that their very presence would make your skin crawl.

THAT person just called you "dumbo", and most of the people on this forum wouldn't piss on that douchebag if he was on fire. We ALL hate that motherfucker. Only, from your perspective, you don't know this. No one does, really. Cause we're all isolated, and restricted to text-only communication and so the normal progression of relationships moves very slowly; like a bunch of people fumbling around in the dark. It takes a while to figure out who is who.

So anyways, my point is to keep this in mind; that the forum (as is true with all forums) is much bigger and more significant than that one douchebag. Me, how I handle it is that I take that negative comment as evidence of how stupid some people really are, and how that makes me superior to them in comparison. I win, without even trying. They've shown their ass, and that's all they've got to show, too. I have much more, and prove that with almost every post. It must annoy that douchebag, to see the guy that he neg-repped, moving forward at such a much higher level than he is; to see the obvious superiority of my thoughts, my posts, my identity in comparison to him, and he must know that it will always be like this. I will be his superior, and the closest he can come to competing with me is to act like a douche in his neg-rep comments.

Maybe you can borrow some of this as well. I recognize your superior mind, and others will also. Truthfully, part of it is your own fault, in that you might have developed more friends, and a stronger presence on the forum had you made a few posts. Newbs get hazed pretty hard here; the high level of spammers makes it so there's really no way to prevent it.

Don't be discouraged my friend. Everyone was a noob once. BHW is a great place to learn about making money, and it's full of genuinely helpful people. Ignore the negative folks and keep going.

Mate, turn this into a positive yes go and search the answer,read read read and than take action,be successfull and show them who you are then,when I started I was a VA of a so called seo guru,he used to pay me 5$ a day for 8 hours of work and treated me like his slave and than sacked me saying I am useless and can't do anything,I have no future. And boy after that I worked really hard to prove that am not useless,and here I am now owner of a very succesful seo and orm firm with UK's biggest brands as my clients.so the point is prove them wrong with action,sorry for the typos using my phone.lol

It's somewhat in the etiquette of the forum to slate anyone in the position of newbie that opens threads that ask about being spoon-fed methods or anything that is deemed a rant about their misfortune with internet marketing.

What newbies need to realize on BHW is that haters are going to hate and therefore should take it on the chin, and try to read more, experiment and come to their own conclusions about what works and what does not.

Asking ill thought out questions will always be met with a bashing from long standing members of BHW, and quite often negative reps are issued by disgruntled VIPS of BHW.

From what I understand about this is that BHW used to be an uncluttered and free thinking internet marketing forum, and most of the VIPS liked it when it was this way. Now with the influx of newbies fleeing from other lesser forums, every day new threads are being thrown up asking stupid and unethical questions and the quality threads are being buried. This is why VIP's are being so impatient and hostile to newbies who do not follow the forum rules to the letter.

In my opinion any newbie joining the forum should just read and participate on the threads asking relevant questions where necessary and build up a reputation on the forum, before ever opening up a new thread asking low quality questions.

On my first day on BHW i received an negative rep from a VIP just because I was a newbie, and I was actually giving some decent advice to others not asking silly questions. But I learned to gel within the forum and have slowly but surely built my reputation.

So don't let this little knock back hurt you, just keep participating and contributing your thoughts and ideas. You will find they are a not a bad lot here on BHW (even some of the naughty ones on the blue side of the force). GOOD LUCK!
