putting html amazon images where i want them?

hey pretty newbie question but i am trying to insert the html amazon picture tag into anywhere on the webpage I want, have tried editing in text using style float but seems to just stay to the left or rigth where i want to place it.

is it possible to put html tags into tables etc

whats the best method for putting amazon images onto the webpage neatly
if i just put it plain then the whole image comes as a block and want to write around it.
