I had a weight loss site, took it offline for about 7 months and had the domain parked. I am looking to revive the site again, I still have the old content saved on my computer. If I put the articles back on the same domain/site will it get penalized for duplicate content?

Thanks, A

You should be okay, but to be more sure check it with CopyScape for duplicate content!

Good Luck!

While I could be wrong, I highly doubt you will be penalized. It was yours to begin with and you claimed to take it down. If you put it back up, there should be no problem.

If you haven't published the content elsewhere and it is unique, there won't be any issues i think

NO, there will be no penalty for duplicate content. Unless someone copied your content and used it after you dropped the site. Then there will still not be a penalty, because there is no duplicate content pemalty across domains anyway.

If your site is in archive.org someone may have already copied your content and put it on their site, since your own site is down. Check for that first, if there's no one out there who now has your content on their site, go ahead with your original plan :) It won't get penalized.
