Have a client that has numerous bad reviews on Yelp & Open Table.

He literally can't put out Positive Reviews quick enough to cancel out the legitimate negative ones by customers. Even if the positive ones stick and are articulate.

You google the company and Yelp/opentable is the very first result. Which is bad all the way around.

How can I push Yelp down?

Based on the little reading I've done, which I would be correct to go with a decent PR Release?
Not something spammy, obviously..

What other options should I bring to the table?

The website should be #1 so that's weird. You could stick a paid ad up to help bring the bad stuff down. If it was me, I would work with the business owner to find out why they are getting bad reviews.

Otherwise it's a chasing your tail mentality. Maybe it's a crazy chef or bad server?

Few hours after I wrote this and I just checked and now the sites are 1 & 2, with yelp being 3. Not sure why that would happen in a few hours.

Things bounce around all the time, that's why it likely changed.

I agree with @b1step-ahead, the business owner/manager needs to fix the problem or you'll be constantly chasing positive reviews just to negate the negatives.

I've found restaurants don't have enough money (or aren't willing to pay) to actually pay for quality suppression. They're better of trying to get customers to leave a positive review. Hand out postcards, offer discounts, etc. and try to entice customers to leave a review.

Yea, this place has paid hundreds of dollars already in just Yelp Reviews already.

So, they have the funds. They've only been open for a few months and have close to 200 Yelp reviews, most of the legitimate and most of them negative.

I hear what you guys are saying, yet when the owner inquiries if it's possible to see who is leaving the reviews and places the possibility that it is his competition leaving the reviews.

You guys perspective would probably fall on deaf ears.

200 reviews is not his competition, it's his food/staff/service/location/etc. If there was a review or two but not 200.

Yelp reviews are really difficult for professionals to get to stick. A competitor doesn't have the same level of expertise or experience. Just click on the reviewers names, I guarantee they're real people. Find them on Facebook and prove it to him.

He need a new menu or a new chef, not to buy a few reviews.
