Black hatters!

Push notifications have been very popular since the launch. However, it became more and more restricted.

Is push still working for you?
Which verticals work best for you?

For the sweepstakes, do you work with SOI, DOI, Reshare?
Did you test multiple CPA networks?

I have mainly run sweepstakes with SOI offers, the usual coupon stuff. I used mainly one network because of their offers
 
I mainly use push notifications for upsells and x-sells within our mobile app.
 
Dating & Betting related offers.

It works good yeah, but there’s always room for improvement.

One thing to look for is to generate as much opt-ins on iOS as possible. On Android the users are auto opt-in, on iOS they aren’t.

That is definitely true. Being lazy is not an option, improvement is always possible.

Are you willing to tell about how you get iOS to opt-in, to help our fellow Black Hatters out?

Give them a reason to opt-in wether it be some free stuff, sweepstake, or even better make it mandatory to receive certain information they don’t want to miss.

That is some excellent information. Does making it mandatory affect your CR?
I could imagine that people leave when they see they have to opt-in.

It’s not the same as an email opt-in. It just means that you allow the app to send you push notifications. It pops up after you install the app or you can change it on your phone settings.
Mandatory was maybe the wrong word, since the app will still work if you don’t allow it. A big percentage will just enable those notifications afterwards because they don’t want to miss important information. I haven’t seen any negative impact in CR so far.
