I’ve seen mixed opinions on combining push and pop traffic. Some say it still works if optimized properly, but others report declining performance lately. Would be good to hear recent real case studies from people running it in 2026.
You can run push + pop together, but the tricky part is they behave completely differently.
Push has at least some level of intent (user subscribed), while pops are basically forced traffic, so mixing them without separating logic usually messes up optimization.
What worked better for me was treating them almost like 2 different campaigns:
push → more angle/creative testing
pop → more zone filtering + fast optimization
If you just send both into the same funnel without adjusting, data gets noisy and it’s hard to scale anything.
Curious — are you trying to run them to the same offer/lander or separate flows?
Yes, it’s actually a great setup for boosting ad effectiveness and revenue. I use the combination of push notifications and Monetag popunders on a couple of websites, and it works really well. When the subscription prompt pops up, users have to click “Yes” or “No,” but even if they don’t subscribe, they still have to click, which triggers the popunder ad.
They still make a great combo, but you have to refresh creatives constantly. The pop traffic burns out the landing page angles way faster than the push notifications do.
sure, you can always mix any ad formats,
but it's important to not be so noisy for user
you can setup pop + native ads - it will not be so toxic for user
yeah some people still using push + pop together, but it depends on traffic quality and setup, works for some and for some it not converting like before.
