Hi BHW people,

Looking at online business in long term, I think pure white hat strategy is the answer. This is my first time to try it. Do you know of a strategy that you would love to freely share. =) thanks!

pure white hat? keep your On-page SEO at a constant 100%.
Keep writing high quality content.
Promote - participate on forums, ask for links, advertise, participate on social platforms.
Repeat.
Continue.
Wait.

You said pure white hat:)

Being completely white hat is always the best choice if you have the patience. Not only is it much more satisfying but it's also much more rewarding. Pretty much what David said. But also focus on quality anchor text based backlinks from high page ranking related websites.

Start grey hat by building links to get your site seen and then if the quality is good enough the site will naturally grow links, this is when you stop building links and get your white hat website.

Exactly. If I'm doing White hat I write to site owners in my niche and ask for linkbacks - sometimes you get some really good links with very low obl.

Of course anchor text is important, and still so is keyword research, content plan etc.

I opt for greyhat. No xrumer or crap links to your money sites but build parasite web 2.0 satellites.

there's a search button on the thread....no need to start a new thread for something that has been discussed at least 1000 times

First off, noobs may need a specific question answered rather then a 'general overview' from such a common topic. Secondly, SEO is constantly changing. What may have been practical in a thread here (or anywhere else for the matter) some time ago may not necessarily be effective today. If a noob has an inquiry about anything else and something similar has been posted I'll redirect them in addition to giving them my personal opinion.

Ironically, my response may have been much different in a thread from a year ago (or even six months) given the constant state of change within the industry. Although I understand your perspective.

@bo4610 it also wouldn't hurt to throw in some social related links as a means of networking. Social Media related websites such as facebook and twitter are excellent for connecting to potential clients. This is formally known as Social Media Optimization (SMO) but think of it more as a means connecting friends that are related within the same industry - at a 24/7 BBQ. If your the host the guests will respect your opinion.

With white hat SEO it's best to focus on creating content that will get shared on Facebook, Tweeted on Twitter, Stumbled on StumbleUpon, and Up Voted on Reddit. If you can accomplish that then you are likely to get natural links to your pages and get good rankings as well as good traffic.

The honest answer is it depends on your commercial requirements...

If IM is your hobby and you want to build a couple of sites and enjoy them - then that's one thing: White Hat is fine.

If your intention is to build a basic income, then progress onto a great income, and then build a great business, then traditional white-hat will NOT cut the mustard.

White-Hat mentality is hobby mentality - it's not commercial enough for real business. You have to be prepared to go grey-hat in your submission and link-building techniques to produce the volume required, although this doesn't mean sacrificing your white-hat quality ethic.

I own 3 businesses - and one of them is very ethical/white hat - but I still use grey-hat link building techniques to compete for lead-gen in a hard commercial sector.

Mixture of techniques is the way to go I think. Depends on the niche and where your trying to take the site as well I guess.

White Hat SEO consist of 2 things. Rinse and Repeat. You won't see the result right away.

I agree to this. Try it for 1 - 2 months. With all the Do Follow you know. :)

hi guys.

this is a black hat forum
i come here to ask for white hat strategy.

am i clever??

why not, i mean people discuss all different strategies and sometimes you can twist a blackhat method to go gray and maybe even white. plus there is a white hat section in forum for a reason

Hey, anybody dumb enough to just do WH and who is willing to wait around on page 50 is welcome to it. Less competition for the rest of us. WH is good, but it alone isn't gonna make me $$$

you gotta mix it up - grey + white. Someone else said it best on board that you don't want to start at 18 and only start to make money when you are 60 with whitehat.

The easiest way would be to is to start adding articles for your website. There are a few companies that charge about $5 for a good originally written 500 word article. Keep adding articles, keep building links and you will see results over time.

With that being said, I would suggest that you mix it up a bit with some social media marketing. Depending on your site you can make some youtube videos or start a mailing list. You need something proactive on the marketing side otherwise you are going to be waiting a long time to see results.
