purchasing similar domain names

if i set up an information network with say 20 domain names e.g.

information-on-sport.info
information-on-cooking.info
information-on-sex.info
information-on-you.info

am I shooting myself in the foot ?? is it better to have completely different domain names with absolutely no synergy ?

Nope, your not shooting yourself at all. The SE's couldn't care less if you had similar names.

If you don't have them, someone else might!

im looking to do something similar... i have a list of words that i want domains bought from in different combinations and then set them dns up so they're ready later... are there registrars that will let me make a program for this?? a registrar w/ an api? im trying to code this one out myself... sorry noob question...

Not quite sure what your even asking? All registrars will automatically assign a name server ..

the way i've bought mass domain names is quite simple really -
I goto godaddy, and I enter maybe 50 in the bulk domain search they have.. then I buy them - with private details.. after which when they go onto my domain panel, i select them all, and I can then assign the DNS for every domain at the same time.

Pretty straightforward really, and as simple as it gets.

i guess it's two questions really

any registrars that will let me create domains and set their DNS w/ a script? like w/ an api?
i guess i can handle the wordlist part myself w/o a registrar... so lets make this one question only.

i guess im trying to avoid having to login to godaddy or something else to create domains because i want this to happen on a rotation without intervention...

since i posted it seems i have to be a reseller to get api access to eNom & others... but kinda risky so i may skip this project alltogether
