Hi, would like to know if it is advisable to purchase a domain that was previously 301 redirected to another site (based on archive.org)? This domain is within the same niche and has got great backlinks, great stats etc.

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

As long as you buy same niche domain you can drive old traffic and optimize it as new.It might be 301 redirected because of it's SEO value. Finally check for google index and a deep research on all metrics then go for it.

If the stats are fine, clean backlinks, not spammed or abused previously then the domain is fine. There are domains that were redirected for valid reasons but avoid domains that were clearly redirected for SEO Purposes.

It's fine as long as it was redirected on the same niche before.
