Punishment for Using Hot Girls

Hi Is there risk involved in using random images of hot girls in emails I send to my email list?

It's for promoting a dating site. I thought about embedding instagram/photobucket images as a sort of copyright loophole but I couldn't get it to work in an email :(

How severe could the punishment be? :S and is there any legal workaround without blurring their faces into oblivion?

You can still be sued for copyright infringement if you send the email to a person who recognizes it and the pictures are of someone who is willing to pursuit the case.

Also, depends on which country you live in and how carefully you hide all details about yourself from the emails and everything related to them.
 
No. As long as they are non-nude.

You will either get a "reported" email or "unsubscribe me" email back. Besides that, you can get sued if you do not have permission to use the images and you get unlucky enough to email someone who knows the "model".
 
doubt your get trouble, but everyone will know its fake girl, they only have to drag the image into google images it will reveal.
 
just put something in the terms that says "we can use your image for promotional purposes" then pick the from your own site

I haven't got many members, and they're mostly men. Certainly not hot young girls lol. Do you think I could make fake girl accounts (using a different IP) on the dating site and agree to the terms like you said with each. Then use images from those fake accounts and if i ever get into trouble i blame it on the "people" who made those fake accounts? would something like that work?
 
LostConnection already gave you the best answer for this. The only way you would get into trouble would be if the copyright holder of the images (who is almost always the person who took the photo), were to see that you were using those images. If the copyright holder made this disocvery and you failed to conceal your details, you will be served with a copyright infringement notice by a lawyer. There are some interesting cases about, like this article I read a few months ago about a blogger who was required to pay $8,000 in damages over 1 photo he used on his website a long time ago (the page was hardly viewed, too!).
 
You have to be ready to take a risk if you want to pursue a career in IM. Many members don't worry about legality and simply use offshore hosting to cover their tracks. If you want to play it safe just use royalty free models, if they exist

I suppose they could request for you to be taken down, although if they had uploaded it into the www in the first place and didnt secure the images it'll be hard for them to pull off a case against you
 
What kind of "punishment" are you talking about? Are the girls of legal age (they better be or else you are total scum)?

If the girls are legal, you could still get a cease & desist (C&D) if the images are copyrighted--which I'm sure they are--but you're not going to get in any trouble with the criminal law. There's nothing criminal about sending "hot girl" pictures, although it's kinda skeezy.
 
Invest in better images you've paid for and it's better than scraped obviously fake ones. And not illegal.

Definitely of legal age. So you're saying cease & desist would work with emails? Is there a place to get these images from where it's less "illegal" than others. eg. is it better to get images of models that had signed a model release form meaning just the photographer's copyright to worry about instead of say getting random girls off instagram?

That would be difficult when I have to include my real name, address etc in every email I send cos of UK email law :( thanks tho
