On a wider point of not understanding language, one of my first jobs many years ago in publishing was creating adverts.
I was asked to come up with the visuals for a print ad of a new washing machine. Nothing complicated you would think...
So on the left i had a pile of dirty clothes, then the washing machine in the middle and on the right a pile of clean clothes.
I was very proud of my first design. Showed it my boss who to paraphrase said "what the f**k have you done there you f**king idiot, the clients israeli!"
For those, like me, who did not understand what was wrong, hebrew is read right to left, not left to right. So visually it looked like you put clean clothes in the washing machine and out came dirty ones!
