Pulling my hair out...

I started my tiered link building campaign over a month ago, and I've seen small drops in my rankings, or no budging at all for other keywords. For the life of me I can't figure how some websites are ranking better than mine, other than domain age (mine is over 2 years old vs. domains that are 5-10 years old). I feel my on-site SEO is pretty good and my only guess is that I stupidly bought a bunch of bookmark backlinks from fiverr which made my links total jump up quickly, then back down quickly.

Im trying to maintain a healthy gradual link building campaign now, but as of recently I don't seem to be going anywhere. Am I just being impatient or am I doing something wrong? Anyone that would want to give my site a quick analysis would be greatly appreciated.
And if you are going to roast me, that's fine, but throw in a little advice too.

Is it a static site ? are you adding any content or making revisions to existing content or are you just concentrating on seo ?

I'm adding content slowly right now, but it will pick up very shortly. But thats the same for all my competitors as well.

Yea, throwing low quality links at your site is indeed stupid.
